My Brush With Oscar

I was fortunate to be working on Spiderman 2 when we won a few Oscars (more correctly called "Academy Awards"). We also won an Oscar for Aviator, which I worked on.

Who Are Those Guys?

In the Visual Effects world, these guys are super-stars. I am very proud to have worked with the best in the business. From left to right:

Rob Legato - Visual Effects Supervisor - The Aviator. He worked on visual effects teams for television and received Emmys for "Star Trek: The Next Generation", and "Deep Space Nine". He also worked on the "Twilight Zone" series. Movies he worked on were "Apollo 13" (for which he received an Oscar nomination), "Titanic" (for which he received an Oscar), "Armageddon", "What Lies Beneath", "Cast Away", "Bad Boys II", "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone", and "The Aviator". Nice guy.

John Dykstra - Visual Effects Supervisor - Spiderman 2. He previously won an Oscar for his visual effects work on "Star Wars". He has been nominated for Oscars for "Stuart Little" and "Spiderman". He has also worked on "Battlestar Galactica", "Star Trek - The Movie", "The Andromeda Strain", and "Silent Running" - among many others. Very nice guy. (Notice his hand on my shoulder.)

Scott Stokdyk - Visual Effects Supervisor - Spiderman 2. He has worked on "Contact", "Starship Troopers" (Oscar nominated), "Godzilla", "Stuart Little", "Hollow Man" (received an Oscar), and "Terminator 2/3D". Also a nice guy.

ps. That's me holding 2 Oscars. They are as heavy as they look. This picture makes me look fat, but the camera adds 50 pounds. Those other guys are really skinny!
